Prayer goes beyond just a conversation. True prayer becomes a relationship, where there is pleasure, peace and comfort just because you place yourself in the presence of God. Prayer, IS a relationship with God.
I talk to God all of the time. I mutter to Him, I cry to Him, I share with Him. It is a habit that I fell into quite some time ago and cannot imagine my life without the ability to share my thoughts, troubles, goodtimes and bad with Him through prayer.
Sometimes prayer is just a conversation with Him as I go through my daily chores, jobs, obligations. Daily, it is time also time set aside to praise and worship Him. Morning for me, is the very best time to have my "alone" time with him, even tho my husband joins me during this time. It's the most awesome part of the day. The two of us together, sharing our adoration to Him.
I was asked by a health care provider recently how to become "prayerful". At first, this question made me pause a bit, because prayer to me is like my right hand. Yet I realize that not everyone knows about this awesome stress relief, anchor, and direct line to getting through an impossible day.... in order to form a habit of talking with God continually and involving Him in all we do, we must, first, consciously relate to Him. Then, after a little care, we would find His love draws us to Him without any difficulty. You just have to do it, and then you find it becomes like second nature and soon, something that you cannot live without.
Prayer is a deliberate, intentional, willed and grace-filled response by the believer to God’s invitation. Prayer may be planned or spontaneous, and may be motivated by a variety of needs. For example, a believer may spontaneously turn to God in prayer to satisfy a physical need; or desire a deeper spiritual relationship with God and plan on praying more frequently in the future; or be in emotional need of healing some undesirable past memory. (that paragraph was sent to me in an email, yet without the author's name) but I agree with the statement. I also feel that prayer is a lifeline to wellbeing.
I don't have to be in distress to pray. I don't have to have a boat-load of problems to pray, most of the time it is deliverate praise and worship time. Yet, when I have a difficult situation, or faced with an ugly situation, prayer is where I go first.
Prayer, it's good for you.

AMEN VON AMEN. Prayer for me is a personal connection with the Father. He is and always will be my very best friend. His answers will always be the right ones, so we never have to worry when we give all our problems to Him. THEY ARE ALREADY BEING TAKEN CARE OF as we talk with Him. To feel His presence from the moment we wake to the time when we close ours eyes is so amazing. He loves us with a love that is far beyond our understanding, even when we fail miserably. Praise the name of JESUS. Blessings sister, Linda
