LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!

ABOUT: LIKE A BIRD

I began this post as a preface as I put LIKE A BIRD up for critique. This just poured out and it's a bit too long for that forum but it is a very worthwhile testimony. In fact, it's down right dangerous. So, take that, hell. God's got my back...as i fly....and He IS the wind beneath my wings.

This song was written a few years back. Aaron Bewza had sent me this excellent composition (around the time of CSN's Challenge 3) I knew at that time I wanted to work with him. He invited me to write a lyric and also wanted me to sing it. Which was beyond my skill, my aspirations, as I lacked confidence, fully aware, I'm no trained singer. As it turned out God showed me over and over, through people, the Word and circumstances- [b]HE
was asking. I found myself in uncharted waters. This coincided perfectly with an invitation from AngelVon to come visit her in Ohio. There was just NO way I could afford the trip, without a miracle of sorts. I immediately got a phone call from April, a dear friend who's husband Eddie had just died a short while back. I was amazed as she said, "Diane, I'm going to Ohio. Will you come with me?" (was going to visit her mom, passing right by Von's house!) WOW. God calling. There was nothing to do but go! Thrilled to get to meet Von (and Art), I realized we were so much alike. What an awesome time we had as God bonded us as sisters during those wonderful days. During this time we discussed Aaron's song; So Von and I co-wrote the lyric. Then as I began to sing - Von 'held my hand', coaching me with on the job training. I was so scared. It was my 1st time ever in a studio. However, they were gentle, fun and light hearted doing their best to put me at ease. I made a lot of mistakes. We laid those initial tracks. I told Art he could make a dog sound good. haha But I was kinda blown away to hear it for the 1st time. I just cannot tell you how this made me feel. As it turned out Von wanted to sing it with me. So we did. I had to leave before the song was done, having only 10 days there. She sent me the mp3. Striving for excellence, this song had a few vocal issues, needing to be smoothed out. Next God arranged a 2nd miracle trip, for 3 weeks. Von was in bad shape physically and seemed all hell came against her during this time. I did not like seeing my friend suffer and the song became unimportant to me, although we did manage to work on it a bit. The pain seized her and I wondered, why God why? Again I HAD to go back home. Seemed like this baby was being aborted. Aaron remained on standby for the final mastering. God sent me up there a 3rd time and I stayed 3 months. She'd had surgery and been through so much, I was thrilled to see her regain her strength. We were all working very hard, full time and seemed we seldom had time to work on much music, the garden was coming in full force. BIG garden. We watered/weeded/picked/canned/froze/shucked our fingers to the bone. However we did make some progress with LIKE A BIRD; re-recorded some lines and added more harmonies, and Art began to embellish Aaron's music, adding so many layers to it.

I have never been so 'stretched' as I learned to simply breath at the right times so as not to run out of breath while holding those notes far longer than I felt capable. How patient they were! My part was done. Very shortly thereafter it became apparent my time was up and I must go home.

NOW: The almost mastered copy only lacks one harmony vocal and I believe it is 'jaw dropping good'....even the way it is....but Art N Von did not get where they are by doing anything less than perfect. So that's where this song stands. This song has required much much patience and I trust it will turn out the exact way God wants it too, accomplishing HIS purposes.....and nothing else. God's given me the grace to wait but recently I began to feel it is time now for this bird to fly, so I will post the original 1st edition, for now. This song is so special to me and comes from a brand new place God created me. I have lived this song and its' lyric, its has become the epitomy of my testimony -- having been hurt and abused so much I have doubted that I could ever fly -- but God must think I should, seeing ALL He has done just to make it happen. I am so thankful.
This song reaches inside of my soul, extracting one powerful dangeroustestimony that has certainly even changes my life -- to KNOW I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me; that His strength is perfected in weakness ; that sometimes, God does not call the equipped yet equips the called; that If GOD be for me, who can stand against me? I GIVE YOU PRAISE, HONOR and GLORY, FATHER

Flying like a bird...into His love...

We work hard for a harvest in more than ONE way. We will go down "mud road" for it too. My feet may get dirty, but praise The Lord, JESUS washes them clean everytime.

I got dirty feet in the garden
planting seeds for the crop
Rain wind n scorching sun
God knows we never stop!!!!

We're working for the harvest
won't find no piddlin' here
Coz Jesus owns this garden
Let's make that crystal clear!!!!

:flower:  :flower: LOL...I love ya too sweetie. thank you.
"trusting the sky and soaring into HIS LOVE!!!!"
