It has been WAY too long since I have been here. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE CSN! Why? Because of the great people/friends I have met here and because of it's ministry. It is such a wonderful website.

I have been consumed with kids, and life and my own little mind games that have been going on in my head about basically who I was as a songwriter and coming to terms with that, but mostly who I was in God's eyes. This summer has been an awakening time for me. I have come out of it with more peace, more direction, more communication with God on a daily basis and more time with my wonderful family.

As far as songwriting goes, I haven't written a whole lot new. One arrangement with my husband to Christ The Lord Is Risen Today, one song out of a prayertime for our church, and one to break me out of my box and do something totally new and my hidden passion. Hopefully I will get enough courage to share it with you. lol.

God convicted me that I needed to have my relationship with Him number...

I had to vent this out somewhere to other songwriters because it is totally bugging me right now. I am wanting to produce a cd of 14 songs I have written in the past three to four years. They are not perfect. They have issues in them lyrically. So I am in the process right now of revising and rewriting them. It is taking so much time. Is it important to do this? I think so. I want to make them stronger. In the process though I am not able to think about the next album of songs. I am hindered by my insecurity, by my level of songwriting.

It is around 4:30am. My daughter woke me up so I sit here awake with this nagging feeling to work on those songs. I know however, that I will need to get up with the kids early, go to Easter rehearsal, look at a bed for my daughter, clean and organize the house, cook dinner and go to the Farmer's Market for groceries. There is a juxtapostion between both worlds. My mommy/wife side and my songwriter side. They are always competing for top...

I haven't been here in a while and I miss you guys. I will post "Maui" sometime soon for those of you who read those lyrics I posted.

I wanted to tell you that I have been working on my website and it is up and running. It is a place where you can get almost all the info on what I am up to and about my first album! I'm doing it! This is such an exciting adventure. You can join my mailing list and receive monthly updates on how the recording process is going, where I am singing, and listen to each song when they are finished before anyone else. You will also receive a free signed copy of the CD when it comes out. I hope you will come over and visit me there at:

Thank you to those who have given me such wonderful support. Christian Songwriters.com is one of the best places to get connected. I started here about two years ago not knowing what to do next and found great friends who helped encourage...

Darian went to be with the Lord this morning. What a brave little boy. I am so glad he isn't in anymore pain. I wish I could be there. It is hard to be so far away. Thank you for praying for his family. Only God knows why.

Love,

Lara~

It has been too long in writing here. I stop by and try to catch up on what everyone has been up to.

Well, we are in Pleasanton now and just love it. We miss Salem quite a bit also, but we know God planted us and we are seeing the fruit in that. I really believe God is doing something cool in our church. I am praying for a new depth in the hearts of the congregation and in us on the worship team. Centerpointe is a very carrying church that has lots of history to look back on. There is a willingness to reach out to the community. I am so looking forward to see what God has in store.

I have been asked to help lead the music for their VBS camp this summer. I am super scared about it because kids intimidate me. Even my own! So it's going to have to be through God's strength that I can pull it off. i love clinging to God though because it makes life much more exciting don't you think? = )

As far as songwriting goes I am pretty overwhelmed. Right now I am registered with SongU.com....
