Post subject: squirrel in my house
Permanent LinkPosted: January 18th, 2009, 2:08 pm
It's a cold winter day out today.
It snowed a few inches last night but at least I didn't have to shovel it.
I have a problem lately. I had water dripping on the side of my house, which sort of ruined my siding in one spot. I have asbestos shingles. Well my house ended up getting a hole in it which my hubby has yet to fix, and when I came home , pulling up to my drive way was this BIG squirrel. It climbed into the whole of my house. Now when I am in the bathroom or the kitchen I can hear it running around in the ceiling of the kitchen or in the lower part of the bathroom walls. My son called me and said he thought it was a sick cat stuck in the ceiling, so he broke a whole in the ceiling of my kitchen to try and get it out. (I wanted to kill him) When I came into the house I seen this hole before he told me what he did, I thought a squirrel broke through. Needless to say I was freaking out! Thank goodness I fixed the whole in the house now I have to make sure that squirrel is out of the hole so we can temporarly cover the hole. That is all I need is a nest of squirrels in the walls of my home. Any advice PLEASE POST.
Wouldn't my son have gotten a surprise if he grabbed an animal thinking it was a cat, out of the wall and found out it was a squirrel chewing on his arm.
Hopefully I will be recording some of my songs soon. I have a friend who will be doing this with me at my church. I sing on the worship team of my church and we have a great band, but there are very busy. This has been a little of a let down for me. Some have promised to help me when it comes to the instruments, but the door continues to close in my face. I have been very discouraged by this. I just have to try to remember that it has to be in the Lords timing an not in mine. Patience is a gift that has to be given slowly. It's a work in progress. :)
I hope some will write to me in my blog That would be very nice.
Greetings to everyone here on our CSN forum and may the grace and peace that only our Lord Jesus Christ can give , be upon you.
Love you all very much.
God bless.

I know the feeling exactly--I sing on team and we have some great (some even pros) musicians that also seem to have lives. They have said many times that they would like to help me with my songs, or contribute if I ever do a demo CD, but it just sort of never works out. Much as I don't want to listen, I think God is telling me to get off my lazy butt and learn to play the guitar myself while I still have quick fingers (oh, Lord, can't I just be a lyricist and use my fingers to type??). But maybe that's just me...
Sorry, no advice for the squirrels. We don't have any here--only mongoose, and they don't climb walls. I caught a squirrel once when I was a kid using an old-fashioned trap (upside down laundry basket, stick with a string attached). I found out that squirrels can quickly chew through plastic laundry baskets. Maybe you should just use this opportunity to write a really funny song about the whole ordeal.
Have a creative day!!

I once had a squirrel rip thru my screen window and eat the bread on the window sill. ( we had placed a package of frozen hamburger buns on the window sill to thaw!)

Your music will happen Linda, all in His time- (and yours too, mlshiira)
Remember your praises are always heard by HIM!
