I see my lyrics as contemporary christian crossover - I imagine people singing the psalms/ scriptures without even knowing it!! I have a lot of songs that come right from scripture but sound contemporary, I think kids today are singing lyrics that are so innapropriate and they dont even know what they are saying

Starting To Get Music put to These Songs for Gods Children by heleanamaria on June 20th, 2010, 9:45 pm
Hi CSN Family,
I have been blessed by God because a dear friend named Angela Dittmar,
Has put music to Gods song Run To Him!
It has been revised and is now finished on Lyric Critiques.
It is also on Song And Scratch to listen to. It is called Run To Him
if you are interested in what me and Ang have been up to.
We had fun and learned alot from doing Gods songs together.
She added the music to my melodies and music God has given me
for this song.
It is a Childrens Waltz. What comes to mind is the Alps so maybe a
Austrian Waltz for a bible school teacher to sing to her class of little ones.
They could dance to it.
I am always praying for all of you and please pray that I get even
more songs put to music. They have very important messages that
need to be conveyed to many.

Gods Great Peace,
Heleana Maria

Testing by angela dittmar on June 11th, 2010, 10:50 pm
Why does a teacher test a student?
Is it to a)discourage them? b)encourage them? or c)to access if they have learned the knowledge that was imparted to them.
I believe the answer is C

Why do I have to go thru these tests?
The answer is still C
I have to know that I know that I know, and know - beyond all question, Who is in charge and Who I serve, so when those temptations and trickery comes at me, I will be strong.

This is a test, It is only a test.
remain calm
listen for instructions
He will tell me what to do.

I'll keep you posted............

What is the purpose of collaborating? by perryg on May 19th, 2010, 3:59 pm
What is the purpose of collaboration?
Is it only to find someone to help write one song and move on?
Is it to develop a relationship while writing a song?
I am writing this primarily to those of us who are nonperforming songwriters, although it applies to all of us.
First, from all I have read on the subject of co-writing, I see two primary purposes in co-writing: 1. to develop my skills and/or help someone else to develop their skills by combining their strengths and 2. to develop relationships, the key to getting somewhere in the music business.
I was in sales for a number of years, and this idea of networking with others to further your career is not dissimilar. The whole idea of networking (co-writing) is indeed to develop my career through the development of relationships with others. Hopefully, some of these will be with someone who is also going somewhere.
I believe we are best served when we serve others. If I want to build a strong career through songwriting and co-writing, I need...
