The other night we went to go see Kung Fu Panda, which they were showing at my son's school (sit on the grass and watch the movie projected on a wall). I was expecting just a fun family activity, but ended up in a rather thoughtful mood because underneath the childish plot of the movie I discovered a very deep and profound personal message.

Without giving away the plot of the movie entirely, I will say that it is your average 'young clumsy boy turns out to be a kung fu hero by defeating a kung fu master that turned over to the dark side' story. My son noted that there was a lot of fighting in the movie (he disapproves of fighting); my mental response was "duh, it's a kung fu cartoon." My daughter thought the panda was silly; my analytical mind was trying to figure out approximately how old the main-character-panda was supposed to be in the story so as to determine if the silliness was age-related or merely cartoon-related. A friend recently sent me an article by Francis Frangipane regarding ambition and how our pride keeps us away from God. Here is a short excerpt:

"Ambition is very deceptive. It can seem just like obedience, yet because we don't truly know the Lord, the voice we find ourselves obeying is not God's, but our own. Our vision can actually be from God, but our motive be self. Why? Because we begin thinking we can accomplish the will of God through the strength of man. We are seeking a breakthrough; God wants to give us brokenness."

I know God has given me a calling for songwriting, but the article points out that God's plans are accomplished by submission, not exertion. I think maybe all this time I have been trying to write songs because that's what I thought a calling for songwriting was all about. And so I would question God when I couldn't write anything good. This Anointed Song! When he told me that he was compelled to do this himself.

All I did is ask him to pray that someone would help Jesus and me get this

I thought I was busy - busy enough!!!!
but my goodness = here is what is happening!!!!
I am working at the Nursing Home
I am working on the Music
I am working on a project to get this music done in a professional way
( I am soooo excited this is finally happening!!!)
I am going on circuit (speaking and singing) beginning of March
I am going on the Christian cruise (speaking /singing) at the end of march

and in between all this
IT LOOKS LIKE WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!!!!
we will know in about a week or so if the buyer gets his mortgage
so this is what will unfold, be it HIS WILL
beginning of March
travel to New England
record a CD
and go on circuit 3/8-3/14
go home to NY by 3/15
to pack up and close on the house
and travel to Florida for the
Christian cruise 3/30-4/5
get a motel for a week
and find a place to rent for a few months
while we look for a home to buy
